What does it mean to LaserJockey?
When a DJ service company tells you that they offer laser lighting, it usually means that they picked up a couple of low-powered laser systems from a local music center and hooked them up to a truss. When we say LaserJockey we mean that we are using high-powered laser lights and controlling them beat by beat during your entire event. A LaserJockey knows how to manipulate the lasers to look as if they are dancing to the music. Kind of like a DJ picks a song, well a LaserJockey picks laser effects to match the song.
How do LaserJockey services differ from other laser light show companies?
Many laser light show companies in the United States like to set up the laser systems, put them on a reoccurring loop of effects, and then leave it that way throughout the entire night. This leads to the laser effects being out of sync with the music and can entirely ruin the mood of the party. Our operators, or LaserJockeys, are trained professionals that stay for your entire event mixing and matching laser effects to create the most exciting laser effects possible. These live laser light shows are great for one-off parties and live events.
Are these the type of lasers that can burn people's eyes!?!
Simple answer is yes. High-powered lasers, or CDRH Class IV lasers, are very powerful and can be very dangerous. LaserJockey Inc. is not only great at putting on exciting performances, we also always err on the side of caution. We do not point the lasers at people and we always make sure that our fail-safe operations are up-to-date and ready to be used in an instant if something were to go wrong. Our lasers go through rigorous safety checks before, during, and after a live laser light show performance. We hold all of the licenses necessary to put on laser light shows in New York, and around the United States. Also, all of our performances are covered under a $1,000,000 insurance policy.
Does our location matter, in order to hire a laser light show rental from LaserJockey Inc.?
We offer our laser light show rental services to anywhere in the United States. We can easily travel to your event location and set-up an amazing laser light show for your rental. The prices will increase if you are not in the New York, or tri-state area. Discounted rates apply to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Again, we will travel to anywhere in the United States but travel charges will apply.
What's included in a laser light show rental from LaserJockey Inc.?
Our laser light show rentals include everything that is needed to put on a laser light show. We will bring the laser projectors, the haze machines, the ILDA cables, the control boards, and all of the mounting supplies (when needed). Our laser light show rental equipment is constantly being updated, in order to provide the newest effects and best laser light shows possible. We clean our laser light show equipment on a weekly-basis and test the laser light show rental equipment way before putting on a laser light show, to ensure the best results for your event.
How does a laser differ from other light sources?
Unlike incandescent light, as from a light bulb, which diverges as it moves away from the light source, laser light maintains a narrow beam, simulating a "finger of light." Since the laser light does not spread out, the brightness is maintained -- even over long distances. Just like an incandescent light, the brightness of a laser is determined by the power in watts it emits. The lower the wattage, the dimmer the beam. Conversely, the higher the wattage, the brighter and visually "fatter" the beam.
